TEHRAN, Iran, Nov.12

Trend:

The registration process for the national housing plan in Iran continues, but there are still problems with infrastructure, MP Hassan Alavi said in an interview with Trend.

"The plan includes government and its subsidiary organizations providing natural resources and unused lands to the Ministry of Road and Urban Development in order to build houses there," he said.

He added that the national housing plan follows the Mehr Housing project, with better studies and precise planning.

"There have been some problems with evaluation and location scouting in some regions. Currently, there are some problems regarding infrastructure," Alavi said.

The Ministry of Road and Urban Development has planned to allocate funds for building 400,000 housing units.

The national plan was discussed in 2018, and it includes building 200,000 housing units with the help of the country's private sector, along with 100,000 houses in old urban areas. Meanwhile, Iran's Housing Foundation would be responsible for building the remaining 100,000 houses.

The registration for the national housing plan started in September in Iran's Kerman Province, while the second registration stage kicked off in November in ten other provinces of Iran.

"The citizens of Tehran will also register for the national housing plan next month," deputy for housing issues at Ministry of Road and Urban Development Mahmoud Mahmoudzadeh said previously.

The national housing plan website states that the applicant should be minimum 35 years old.
