Uzbekistan’s scientists have developed a new way for determining gold content in rocks and ores without prior preparation, Trend reports citing Uzbek media.

A special scintillation emission spectral analysis allows determining the gold content within one minute.

The devices were tested in three labs, and the results were highly effective and could be helpful during exploration works.

In July this year, a presidential decree was adopted in Uzbekistan to further improve the geological study of mineral resources and the sale of minerals, according to which Uzbekistan will double its gold and silver production in 2021.

Currently, Uzbekistan produces up to 100 tons of gold per year and is among the ten largest world gold mining countries. In 2020, gold and silver mining will be brought up to 150 tons, and in 2021 - up to 300 tons. In the first quarter of 2019, Uzbekistan became a leader in the sale of gold; 6.2 tons of precious metal were sold.

There are 63 gold deposits in Uzbekistan (nine of them are in industrial development). The total explored amount to more than 2,500 tons, the probable reserves (for categories C1 and C2) - 5,990 tons.
