In 2019, the volume of honey production in Azerbaijan amounted to 6,000 tons, 8 tons of which were exported, Head of Azerbaijan Beekeepers Association (ABA) Badreddin Hasretov told Trend.
"Beekeeping products were exported to Japan. In addition to this market, we also exported small volumes of these products to Arab countries. We are currently looking for new markets for marketing our products,” Hasretov said.
The head of the association also clarified the issue of export supplies to Europe.
"At present, we do not export products to Europe, since we do not have a relevant document for the import of beekeeping products, as well as a license on compliance with international quality standards. It is supposed to resolve this issue and gain access to European markets in 2020," Badreddin Hasretov said.
