Azerbaijan's Gazakh Cement Plant to increase production

Gazakh Cement Plant LLC, a large industrial enterprise in Azerbaijan, plans to increase cement production, a source at the company told Trend.

According to the source, currently, the plant's annual production capacity is one million tons.

"This indicator is planned to be increased up to 1.5 million tons in 2020. The company plans to increase export potential as well. Last year, the plant made several deliveries of clinker to Georgia. Export volumes amounted to over 500 tons. The company plans to continue exporting this construction material to the Georgian market in 2020. Moreover, the company considers Iran as a potential market," the source said.

Gazakh Cement Plant LLC is one of the largest manufacturers of building materials in Azerbaijan. In addition to cement, the plant produces concrete and clinker.

The plant started clinker production on Aug. 21, 2019. By mid-September 2019, the plant's production reached 70 percent of its capacity, and in October 2019 - 100 percent.

The opening ceremony of the Gazakh Cement Plant was held on July 5, 2013, with the participation of President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.

The plant, equipped with the most modern equipment, produces cement using the dry process. Some 250 million manat ($147 million) has been invested in the plant and it employs 700 people. In total, the plant's complex includes 49 buildings and structures.

A chemical and physical laboratory has been created at the plant in order to regularly check the quality of raw materials used in the cement production and finished products. It conducts chemical, physical and mechanical tests of gypsum, limestone, marl, clay, volcanic ash, clinker and cement of various grades.
