Farmers in Iran's Fars Province get paid for 158 projects

BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 18

About 3.1 trillion rials (about $78.3 million) were repaid to farmers for 158 projects in area of agricultural processing industry, as well as medicine in Iran's Fars Province, Director of Pars Agricultural Department Mohammad Mehdi Ghasemi told Trend.

According to Ghasemi, 710 billion rials worth of loans (about $16.9 million) were paid for 23 projects in the field of industrial processing.

Ghasemi added that 740 billion rial (about $17.6 million) loans for 76 greenhouse projects, 37 billion rials (about $880,000) were paid for 33 medical plant projects.

"In addition, about 2.71 trillion rials (about $64.5 million) for 8,934 project and 2.8 trillion rials (about $67.1 million) loans were disbursed for 33,500 projects related to agricultural development," he said.

Ghasemi said that 1 trillion rials (about $23.8 million) were paid for the purchase of more than 1,000 units of agricultural machinery and equipment in the agricultural sector.

In addition, loans were also provided in the agricultural sector for livestock, procurement of medicines, land cultivation and other activities.
