Uzbekistan continues to export its goods to Tajikistan, especially fruit and vegetables, Trend reports citing Uzbek media.
Currently, the price for greenhouse tomatoes produced in Uzbekistan decreased to $1.76 in the Tajik market, although a few days ago they were sold at $1.96 - $2.15 per kg. Wholesale price of the product is $1.56 per kg.
Tomatoes and cucumbers grown in Tajikistan's greenhouses cost 1-2 somoni ($0.01-0.02) which is cheaper than Uzbek ones. In addition to quality, transport and customs costs affects the price of Uzbek products.
Meanwhile, a big greenhouse by Tajik "Bars" company was launched in Tajikistan in Bobojon Gafur district, and a complex of four greenhouses by the "Vitamins of Tajikistan" company is being built (one of the greenhouses has already been launched, bringing the first harvest) in Spitamen district.
Due to the coronavirus spread, drivers of foreign tructs are not allowed to enter Tajikistan's territory, while goods are unloaded at border points, and delivered to their destination by local transporters.
