Iran reveals number of enterprises to operate in Mazandaran province

BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 4

Licenses were issued for the operation of 2,579 enterprises at Mazandaran province in western Iran, said Chairman for the Industry, Mine and Trade Organization in Mazandaran province Hossseinghouli Qovanlu, Trend reports citing the organization’s website.

According to Qovanlu, 129 trillion rials (about $3.08 billion) were invested in these enterprises, and more than 100,000 people are provided with employment opportunities.

The official said that 206 enterprises were licensed to operate last Iranian year (from March 21, 2019 to March 20, 2020). This is an increase of 145 percent compared to the preceding year (from March 21, 2018 to March 21, 2019).

Qovanlu added that in total, the licenses have been issued for the establishment of 3,087 enterprises so far, 251 trillion rials (about $5.97 billion) will be invested in them.

“Last year, licenses were issued for the establishment of 805 enterprises. This shows an increase of 14 percent compared to the preceding year," he said.

Qovanlu said that the licensed enterprises are operating the area of production of metals, equipment, foodstuffs, non-metals, cellulose, chemicals, textiles as well as in electricity, electronics and other sectors.
