Industrial production volume in Uzbekistan decreases

Enterprises of Uzbekistan manufactured industrial products in the amount of 104.2 trillion soum ($10.2 billion) from January through April 2020, Trend reports with reference to the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan.

This amount represents a 5.4-percent decrease, compared to the same period in 2019.

The decline mostly affected mining and quarrying (18.3 percent), manufacturing (2.5 percent), water supply, sewerage, collection and recycling (11.4 percent), electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning (5.5 percent).

Changes in industrial production volumes were significantly affected by the decline in the physical volume index in Samarkand (81.2 percent compared to the period from January through April 2019), Kashkadarya (89.6 percent), Syrdarya (90 percent), Tashkent (96.1 percent), Fergana (98.5 percent) regions and Tashkent city (98.9 percent).

Tashkent city (16.6 percent of the country's industrial output), Navoi (16.6 percent), Tashkent region (16.7 percent), Andijan region (10.5 percent) and Fergana region (5.8 percent) provinces account for the largest share of the countries' industrial output structure.

The lowest share of industrial production was recorded at the enterprises of Surkhandarya (1.4 percent) and Jizzakh (1.5 percent) regions.
