Part of road on North-South Corridor put into operation in Iran

BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 18

The Sari-Takam-Kiasar road, a part of the North-South Corridor in Mazandaran Province, has been put into operation, Trend reports citing official website of the Iranian Ministry of Roads and Urban Development.

The 17-kilometer-long road has 4 lanes on each side, according to report.

“The road will also play a major role in freight and passenger transportation between Iran's Mazandaran and Semnan provinces,” report said.

“In addition, more than 100 kilometers of roads and 446 apartment buildings were commissioned in Mazandaran Province,” report added.

According to the report, the construction of a number of roads (Ghaimshahr-Sari road, 2nd lane of Marzanabad road) has begun.

"In total, 2.41 trillion rials (about $57.4 million) funds were spent on the commissioned facilities and the implementation of projects worth 8.5 trillion rials (about $202 million) were launched," the statement said.
