Iran's West Azerbaijan Province seeks to curb overpricing by monitoring stores and distribution, Deputy Head at the Industry, Mine and Trade Organization in West Azerbaijan Province Alireza Mahmoudi told Trend.
"Article 15 of national trade law indicates all distributors, producers and storekeepers should display one common price tag on the products to prevent overpricing," Mahmoudi said.
"All the productive and distribution units are obligated to comply with this instruction to display price tags; otherwise, inspectors of the Industry, Mine and Trade Organization would confront the violating guilds and services according to the trade law," the deputy head noted.
"Failure to install the price tag on consumer goods is one of the ways that leads to abuse and overpricing. The Industry, Mine and Trade Organization is committed to confront any violation in order to support customer's right," he added.
"The guilds with no business permit are another potential problem that would cause overpricing by not following the price tag installment since they are not connected to the official distribution network," he said.
