Russia’s St. Petersburg, Turkmenistan boost cooperation

Russia’s Saint Petersburg is one of the three leaders in cooperation between Russia and Turkmenistan, along with Russia's Tatarstan and Astrakhan region, Trend reports with reference to Saint Petersburg City Administration official website.
The trade turnover of St. Petersburg with Turkmenistan increased by 78.2 percent in 1Q2020 compared to the same period last year and amounted to $2.6 million.
The export of Turkmen products to St. Petersburg increased manifold and amounted to over $525,000 during the same period.
Meanwhile, increase of import from St. Petersburg to Turkmenistan was due to large delivery volumes of vessels, boats and floating structures.
The companies from Russia’s Saint Petersburg work in Turkmenistan in such areas as the design and construction of road transport infrastructure, fire protection structures, including developing partnerships in the field of industry, shipbuilding, technology and innovation.
Turkmenistan has been actively establishing business ties with Russian regions in recent years, including Tatarstan and the city of Saint Petersburg.
As reported, the trade turnover between Turkmenistan and Russia increased by 2.7 times in 1H2020, compared to the same period in 2019.
