Turkmenistan exported 40 tons of cattle meat to Georgia for a total of $122,300 from January through August 2020, the Ministry of Environment and Agriculture of Georgia told Trend.
Meanwhile, during the same period of last year, Turkmenistan exported 39 tons of meat and poultry offal to Georgia, for a total of $56,100, as well as 21 tons of pork meat for a total of $45,100.
So, from January through August Turkmenistan exported various products to Georgia for a total of $597,300, while for the same period of last year, the exports amounted to $173,200, and for the whole 2019 – $240,100.
Turkmenistan also supplies various oil and gas products to Georgia, in particular- aviation kerosene. Thus, Turkmenistan exported 22,900 tons of aviation kerosene to Georgia from January through June 2020.
The exported volume of aviation kerosene to Georgia accounted for almost 80 percent of all Georgian aircraft fuel imports.
In 1H2020, Georgia purchased more than 50,000 tons of gasoline and diesel fuel in Turkmenistan, which is almost 8,000 tons more than in the same period of 2019.
Turkmenistan is one of the four main suppliers to the Georgian market of gasoline and diesel fuel.
In 2019, Turkmenistan became the largest supplier of aviation kerosene to Georgia.
