Turkmenistan significantly increases import of flour products from EAEU countries

Turkmenistan imported more than 769 tons of bread and other flour products from the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) from January through July 2020, which is 16 percent more than Turkmenistan's imports of similar products from January through July 2020 of last year, Trend reports, citing statistics from the Eurasian Economic Commission.

Thus, the amount of the above-mentioned imports by Turkmenistan from the EAEU countries amounted to $1.3 million, which also exceeds the amount for the import of bread and other flour products for the same period last year by 23 percent.

The countries exporting bread and other flour products to Turkmenistan were Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Russia. Thus, the share of Belarus in the above – mentioned export amount is $69,550, Kazakhstan – $214,001, Kyrgyzstan – $38,787, and the share of Russia- over $1 million.

Also, from Kazakhstan and Russia, 78 tons of ready-made food products obtained from grain were exported to Turkmenistan from January through July 2020 of this year for a total amount of $195,279.

According to statistics, the share of Kazakhstan in the mentioned export to Turkmenistan was $3,124, and the share of Russia was $192,154.

From ready-made food products to Turkmenistan, macaroni products were also exported from Kazakhstan and Russia in the above-mentioned period in the amount of 5,568 tons, totaling $3.3 million.

Thus, the share of Kazakhstan is $2.3 million, and the share of Russia is $995,003.
