Georgian peach, nectarine exports up

Georgia has exported 25.3 tons of peaches and nectarines worth $21.3 million from May 1 to October 4 which is two times more than in the same period of last year, Trend reports via the Ministry of Agriculture of Georgia.

Meanwhile, the value of exports has increased by $8.8 million.

Georgian peaches and nectarines were mainly exported to Russia - 16,769 tons, Azerbaijan - 567 tons.

In addition, the export of Georgian peaches and nectarines was made to Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Poland, Moldova, Slovenia, Singapore, and Qatar.

Last year Georgia exported 13,256 peaches and nectarines in the following countries: Russia - 10,777 tons, Azerbaijan - 667 tons, Ukraine - 150 tons, Kazakhstan - 114 tons, Slovenia - 78 tons, Iraq - 39 tons, Iran - 20 tons, Moldova - 19 tons, Belarus - 18 tons, Qatar - 0.4 tons.

There are 11 fruit processing factories operating in Georgia with the co-financing of the ministry of agriculture.
