Azerbaijani Agency for Development of SMEs helping entrepreneurs to enter foreign markets

The extension of relations with countries that have a positive experience in the field of small and medium-sized businesses, as well as support in the internationalization of the activities of Azerbaijani entrepreneurs are the priority areas of work of Azerbaijani Agency for Development of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (SMEs), the agency told Trend.

As reported, for this purpose, the agency is working at the international level with relevant organizations, associations, and intergovernmental commissions. Moreover, the agency, based on agreements concluded with partners, provides marketing and financial support to entrepreneurs, organizes training programs and exchange of experience in business management, informs entrepreneurs about business opportunities, and potential foreign investors ready for partnership.

The agency also mediates between foreign investors interested in cooperation with entrepreneurs and local representatives of SMEs. To this end, business forums, B2B meetings, conferences, training, and seminars, as well as support programs for local entrepreneurs to enter foreign markets are organized.

According to the agency, at the moment there are memorandums of understanding and cooperation with the Turkish SME Development Agency, the Polish Organization for the Development of Entrepreneurship, the Kazakh Entrepreneurship Development Fund DAMU, the Central Investment Association of Saudi Arabia, the Italian National Microcredit Agency and the Russian joint-stock company for the development of SMEs ‘Support of Russia’.

The agency added that, in cooperation with the European Union, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), and the Asian Development Bank (ADB), it participates in projects of technical assistance for Azerbaijan.
