Gold producing plant to introduce environment preserving technology in Kazakhstan's Zhambyl

The construction of a mining and metallurgical plant in Kazakhstan’s Zhambyl region will begin in 2021, Trend reports citing the regional akimat (administrative center).

The agreement for the construction of the plant and development of gold ore deposits was signed in 2016 between the akimat and Kazakhstan’s Monterra Qasaqstan company.

The project is included in the industrialization roadmap of the region, and the overall investments vost is to be 600 million euro. The plant is also expected to apply unique technology for gold extraction.

Currently the company is carrying out geological exploration work, and preparing objects for industrial development.

The plant construction will be started in 2021, and the commissioning is planned for 2023. Following that the extraction and production of gold will be launched.

The plant will be producing gold and silver alloy. The modern technologies used at the plant will allow to better preserve the environment.

The roadmap for the project implementation will also be developed in cooperation with the akimat.
