Kazakhstan’s government is planning to expand work on attraction of US companies to operate in Kazakhstan, Kazakhstan’s Prime Minister Askar Mamin said, Trend reports citing the press office of the prime minister.

The topic of US-Kazakhstan cooperation was discussed during an online opening ceremony of the Kazakh-American Business Council at the US Chamber of Commerce with participation of Mamin and US Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross.

In his words, over the years on Kazakhstan’s independence the volume of direct investments from US exceeded $53 billion, which accounts for 15 percent of total foreign investments attracted.

Currently, leading US companies operate in Kazakhstan’s machine-building, chemical, construction, IT, agro-industrial mining and metallurgical, oil and gas sectors of economy.

Mamin also added that as the Kazakh economy enters a post-COVID recovery trajectory, the Government intends to intensify efforts to attract US industrial companies to operate Kazakhstan.

“Attracting investment will go a long way in Kazakhstan’s new economic model. New measures will allow Kazakhstan's investment climate to match the world's most competitive economies,” Mamin said.

Stability and attractiveness of the Kazakhstan’s economy for US business was also emphasized during the ceremony.
