Russia, not France or Spain that are leading the list of countries of main wine importers to Georgia, Trend reports via Georgian media.
A total of 154,800 liters of wine, worth $1.18 million has been imported to Georgia during January-September 2020. The figure is twice less than the data of January-September 2019 when Georgia imported 331 000 liters, worth $ 1.6 million of wine.
According to the National Statistics Office of Georgia, with 65, 200 liters, $223, 000 the Russian Federation is the top wine import country to Georgia. The RF is followed by Italy, with 43,300 liters, $421,400, and France – 16,000 liters, $282,300.
Russia has also been a top importer of wine in Georgia during 2019.
Some 115,500 liters of wine, worth $411, 700 has been imported to Georgia during January-September 2019. The second leading import country last year was Spain, with 77,500 liters, or $157,600. Spain has been followed by Italy – 41,100 liters, $385,900, and Ukraine – 32,500 liters, worth $111,600.
