Trend:

The Central Bank of Iran is to inject a new foreign currency package to the NIMA system to increase the process of trading foreign currency for exporters and importers, said the Governor of Central Bank of Iran.

"Details of the new package would be announced next week," said Abdolnaser Hemati, Trend reports citing IRNA.

"The government economic headquarter has approved the new package based on economists and the private sector request to accelerate the return of export foreign currency revenue back to the country and supplying imported basic material for production units," he added.

He went on to say that the trading in NIMA system has good growth and the new package would develop import approach and boost Forex Management Integrated System as a center for trading foreign currency remittance.

"Monetary base growth rate has been controlled as much as possible despite the country's special situation and the needs for coronavirus related items," he said.

"The growth of the monetary and liquidity base has increased 9.5 percent and 18 percent in October compared to the last Iranian year. From September 22 to October 21 the interest rate has resumed back to the previous rate of the start of the current Iranian year and the necessary measures to limit banks' balance sheet is on the agenda that would reduce the rise of liquidity in the second half of current Iranian year," he noted.
