Iran's Agriculture Ministry to develop startups
TEHRAN, Iran, Nov.3
Agriculture Ministry is to support the development of startups in the agriculture sector, said the Agriculture Minister.
"Considering the country's situation, we seek to increase the use of knowledge-based companies and startups to solve problems in the sector and help people," said Kazem Khavazi, Trend reports citing IRNA.
"The aim is to sell agricultural products to consumers with a suitable price and the first stage is big cities. There are infrastructures in the government especially in Agriculture Ministry to activate startups and one of the suitable environments is the waterfronts that can use startups," he added.
According to Khavazi, some big producers can deliver their commodities with the best quality at waterfronts and startups could remove intermediaries and directly provide the products to consumers.
"All public organizations have to cooperate to assist startups in the agriculture sector. Agricultural Support Service Company, State Livestock Affairs Logistics Inc. in Tehran, Alborz, Isfahan, Shiraz, and Mashhad provinces have a suitable environment for developing startups in the agricultural sector," he noted.
He went on to say that some big investors in the agricultural sector can support startups. Considering the president's policy to support startups businesses it is necessary to issue a bill to develop startups in this sector. The following bill could have an article for logistics and market management of food items.
