Kazakhstan has exported nearly 862,000 tons of grain and flour in October 2020, Trend reports citing Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Agriculture.

The ministry said that this includes 617,00 tons of wheat, 164,000 tons of wheat flour (235,000 tons in grain equivalent), and 9,700 tons of barley.

The majority of Kazakh-produced grain and flour was purchased by Uzbekistan (327,600 tons), Afghanistan (230,300 tons), and Tajikistan (150,500 tons). Almost the entirety of barley exported from Kazakhstan was sent to Iran.

Kazakhstan’s grain producers independently determine export markets for themselves based on prices in accordance with market conditions, existing export ties, and offers.

In total, there are more than 9,100-grain carriers in Kazakhstan, of which 8,600 currently offer services.

The country’s main grain car operator is Astyk Trans JSC, whereas the national cargo transport operator is KTZ Freight Transportation.

In the nearest future, Astyk Trans JSC is planning to use 1,300-grain cars which are currently used by Rusagrotrans company to implement grain transportation.

To promptly resolve the issues of transporting grain of the new harvest, the headquarters for providing an operational solution to the transportation of grain will start working at Kazakhstan Temir Zholy (Kazakhstan Railways) starting October 1, 2020. The round-the-clock work of operational groups for loading grain is organized. The work of such groups and headquarters is carried out in a regular mode.
