The volume of agricultural production in Azerbaijan in actual prices amounted to 7.48 billion manat ($4.4 billion) from January through October 2020, which is 1.6 percent more than in the same period of last year, Trend reports citing the published report of the State Statistical Committee.
According to the report, during the specified period, production in the livestock sector increased by 3 percent (up to 3.63 billion manat or $2.14 billion), and in the field of crop production - by 0.2 percent (up to 3.85 billion manat or $2.27 billion).
During the reporting period, the collection of spring crops continued in the country.
In the past 10 months, 982,100 tons of potatoes were harvested (an increase of 1.6 percent over the year), 1.6 million tons of vegetables (up by 4.2 percent over the year), 448,100 tons of gourds (a growth of 0.1 percent), 946,800 tons of fruits and berries (a 4.2-percent rise), 193,900 tons of grapes (an increase of 1.8 percent), 882,800 tons of tea (a decrease of 1.3 percent), 5,700 tons of tobacco (a growth of 11.8 percent) and 24,700 tons of sunflower (a decline of 28 percent).
During the reporting period, the country produced 443,200 tons of meat, 1.78 million tons of milk, 1.62 million eggs, and 15,900 tons of wool. Compared to the same period of 2019, production of meat increased by 3.1 percent, milk - by 1.7 percent, eggs - by 5.5 percent, and wool - by 0.2 percent.
