Azerbaijan's Azersu allocates funds to improve water supply

Azerbaijan’s Azersu OJSC and AZELMASH STF Scientific and Technical Firm signed a contract worth over 4.2 million manat ($2.4 million), Trend reports on Dec.7 citing the Electronic Procurement portal.

According to the portal, the winner of the tender announced by Azersu for the purchase of spare parts to repair pumps has been determined.

“By the decision of the tender commission, AZELMASH STF was chosen as the tender's winner,” added the portal.

Azersu is engaged in a centralized supply of drinking water and the provision of sanitation services. The company takes the necessary measures to extract water from sources with its subsequent purification, transportation, and sale. It also takes the necessary steps to treat the wastewater.

The company is also engaged in the design, construction, operation, and maintenance of water intake facilities, reservoirs, pumping stations, water pipelines, and sewers.

Azersu OJSC manages 20,000 kilometers of water pipelines, 5,000 kilometers of sewerage and rainwater pipelines.

Currently, projects are being implemented to reconstruct water supply and sewerage systems in urban and rural areas of Azerbaijan. Projects are financed from state funds and loans from international financial organizations.
