The value of exports from Azerbaijan to Switzerland totaled $176 million in the first 10 months of 2020, showing an increase of 19.1 percent compared to the same period of 2019, Trend reports citing the statistical bulletin of the State Customs Committee (SCC) of Azerbaijan.
“In 2019, export operations of Azerbaijan with Switzerland were estimated at $147.7 million. Thus, the share of Switzerland in the total export of Azerbaijan reached 1.44 percent against last year's figure of 0.88 percent,” the bulletin reads.
However, by early November 2020, imports of Swiss products to Azerbaijan fell from $1.2 billion to $62.4 million (95 percent) over the year. Switzerland's share in the total imports of Azerbaijan amounted to 0.71 percent of the total volume, which decreased by 9.91 percentage points over the year.
At the same time, the volume of foreign trade operations between the two countries amounted to $238.4 million, which is 5.7 times less compared to the same period last year.
The balance of foreign trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Switzerland became positive over the reporting period, amounting to $113.5 million.
From January through October 2020, Azerbaijan's foreign trade turnover amounted to more than $21 billion, which is 25.7 percent less compared to the same period of 2019.
