Iran reveals details of exports from West Azerbaijan Province

The exports through the customs of the West Azerbaijan Province (northwestern Iran) increased by 43 percent in terms of value and decreased by 9 percent in terms of volume during the first nine months of the current Iranian year (March 20 through December 20, 2020), Trend reports citing Iran Customs Administration (IRICA).

According to the statistics, in general, 921,000 tons of goods worth $2.04 billion were exported through the customs of Iran's West Azerbaijan Province within the 9 months.

“While in the same period last Iranian year, 1 million tons of goods worth $1.42 billion were exported through the customs of Iran's West Azerbaijan Province,” the statistics said.

In addition, 272,000 tons of goods worth $447 million were imported through the province's customs over the reporting period, the statistics said.

According to the statistics, the imports decreased by 30 percent in terms of value and 40 percent in terms of volume during the 9 months compared to the same period last Iranian year.

Thus, 455,000 tons of goods worth $642 million were imported through the customs of the West Azerbaijan Province in the same period last Iranian year.

At the same time, 1.19 million tons of goods worth $3.12 billion were transited through the customs of the West Azerbaijan Province in nine months. The transit decreased by 27 percent in terms of value and 18 percent in terms of volume, compared to the same period last Iranian year, the statistics said.

The customs revenues of Iran's West Azerbaijan Province for 9 months amounted to 3.82 trillion rials (about $90.9 million).
