The Ports and Maritime Organization has approved a comprehensive development plan to improve capacities and services in the Bandar Lengeh port, said Managing Director of Ports and Maritime Organization Mohammad Rastad, Trend reports citing Ports and Maritime Organization website.
"Bandar Lengeh port is one of the most active ports in the country with high efficiency in maritime trade," said Rastad.
He said that while Iran is having difficulties with trade in the country, the port has the maximum efficiency in non-oil exports.
rastad said the port has proper conditions for development, but needs to be equipped more to increase competitiveness.
" A comprehensive development plan was approved for the 2025 outlook by board of directors in the Ports and Maritime Organization," he said.
Rastad also said that the Ports and Maritime Organization is ready to provide advances with little interest rate to the owners who seek to change their traditional wooden vessels to steel vessels.
