The cost of products sold in Azerbaijan’s retail chains in 2020 made up 40.2 billion manat ($23.6 billion), which is 1.3 percent less compared to the same period of 2019, Trend reports on Jan.21 citing reports from the Azerbaijani State Statistical Committee.
According to the committee, the turnover of food, drinks, and tobacco products amounted to 21.7 billion manat ($12.7 billion), and non-food products – 18.5 billion manat ($10.9 billion).
The cost of sold food products increased by 3.4 percent compared to the same period of 2019, while non-food products decreased by 6.1 percent.
The average monthly retail turnover per capita in 2020 was 335.6 manat ($197.4), which is 4.2 manat ($2.47) more in nominal terms than in 2019.
