Turkmenistan’s grain processing enterprise in Turkmenabat city produced 7,801 tons of flour of the highest and first grades from January through February 2021, Trend reports with reference to the Business Turkmenistan information portal.

In addition to flour, the company also regularly produces semolina, bran and rice. In particular, in the first two months of this year, 20 tons of semolina, 2,351 tons of bran and 576 tons of rice were manufactured.

The grain processing enterprise was founded in September 2013. The company's production capacity is 96,700 tons per year.

Earlier, a long-term memorandum of understanding was signed between Turkmenistan and UNICEF, on the basis of which Premiks, consisting of a mixture of folic acid and iron sulfate, is currently added to wheat flour produced in Turkmenistan.

Turkmenistan also imports flour.

Thus, wheat flour exports from the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) to Turkmenistan increased by 7.8 percent from January through November 2020 compared to the same indicator a year earlier.

In general, more than 33,516 tons of wheat flour from Kazakhstan and Russia were exported to Turkmenistan for a total amount of more than $11.2 million in the reporting period. This is 24.1 percent more than the number of wheat flour exports for the same period in 2019.
