Exports from Iran's Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad Province increase

The exports from the Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad Province (southwestern Iran) increased by 113 percent in terms of value and 15 percent in terms of volume in the last Iranian year (from March 20, 2020, through March 20, 2021), compared to the preceding Iranian year (from March 21, 2019, through March 19, 2020), said Behnam Ahmadi Director-General of Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad Province Customs Office, Trend reports citing Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA).

The director-general stressed that 1,490 tons of goods worth $2.61 million were exported from the province to various countries last year.

“The exported goods were mainly saffron, licorice, sports shoes, clothing, various cosmetics and medical goods, etc. These goods were exported to Iraq, Switzerland, Afghanistan, France, South Africa and other countries,” he added.

As reported, there are 487 manufacturing enterprises in Iran's Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad Province. A total of 11.8 trillion rials (about $281 million) were spent on these enterprises. As many as 319 manufacturing enterprises operate in the province and employ 7,780 people.
