Iran’s GTC shares data on volume rapeseed purchased from farmers

About 21,000 tons of rapeseed have been purchased from farmers in Iran from April 6 to May 5, Trend reports, citing the Government Trading Corporation of Iran (GTC).

According to the report, rapeseed has been purchased from farmers in six provinces of Iran. So, 24 tons of rapeseed have been purchased in Bushehr Province, 19,000 tons in Khuzestan Province, 578 tons in Fars Province, 624 tons in Kerman Province, 47 tons in Hormozgan Province, 462 tons in Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad Province.

The value of purchased rapeseed was 2.04 trillion rials (about $48.5 million).

Reportedly, rapeseed has been planted on 350,000 hectares in Iran in the current Iranian year and 600,000 tons of rapeseed are estimated to be harvested.

One kilogram of rapeseed is purchased by the Government Trading Corporation of Iran for 110,000 rials (about $2.61).

A number of products, including wheat, tea, rice, and other products are purchased from farmers by GTC under a guarantee in Iran.
