Over 353,800 tons of ferrous metal products were sold within 8 months of 2021 through exchange trading, which is 34.5 percent more than in the same period of 2020, Trend reports citing Uzbekistan’s. Commodity Exchange “UZEX”.
On average, 44,200 tons of ferrous metals were sold per month. The maximum sales volume in the amount of 56,500 tons falls on June 2021.
The share of fittings in the sales structure was 75 percent. The share of the corner fell from 16 percent to 11 percent, which is associated with an increase in exhibiting and sales of other types of ferrous metal products. The third position in the market is held by the periodic profile with a share of 7 percent.
According to the market conditions, prices for all grades of fittings are mainly showing an increase. Since January 2021, average prices have increased from $599.1 per ton to $805.1 per ton in August. The highest price indicator for this period is observed in June - $1.076 per ton.
The second most important market in the black metal segment is the corner. The corner sales volume decreased by 9.5 percent compared to 2020. There is also an increase in prices from $505.5 to $973.6 per ton. The highest price indicator was recorded in June – $1,039 per ton.
In terms of the volume of purchases of ferrous metals, the largest transactions were concluded in the city of Tashkent and the Tashkent region (total share of 58 percent).
