Uzbekistan exported cotton yarn for a little more than $1 billion from January through August 2021, which is 55.8 percent of the total export of textile products, Trend reports citing Uzbekistan’s State Statistics Committee.
Finished knitwear and garment exports reached $ 430.7 million. Export of knitted fabric amounted to $158.8 million.
Official statistics recorded that during the reporting period, foreign consumers imported cotton fabrics worth $80.3 million, other finished textiles, rags - $73.5 million, silk products - $35.5 million, carpets - $23.4 million.
In total, according to the results of 8 months of 2021, the export of textile products amounted to $1.8 billion, which is 20.4 percent of the total export volume and, compared to the corresponding period of 2020, increased by 62 percent.
From January through August 2021, more than 468 types of Uzbek textile products were exported to 61 countries of the world.
The largest share of textile exports falls on the Russia ($593 million - 31.3 percent) and China ($475.6 million - 25.1 percent).
