Iran sees increase in exports – IRICA

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Sept. 27

The exports of Iran increased by 61 percent in terms of value and 30 percent in terms of volume during the first six months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through August 22, 2021), compared to the same period last Iranian year, Director General of Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA), Mehdi Mirashrafi said, Trend reports citing the administration.

The director general stressed that Iran exported 60 million tons of goods worth $21.8 billion in 6 months.

Mirashrafi added that liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), methanol, polyethylene, unfinished iron products, iron ingots, propane, urea, gasoline, iron shafts, and copper cathode were the main exported products.

“Within six months, Iran exported 14.8 million tons of goods worth $6.5 billion to China, 13.9 million tons worth $3.8 billion to Iraq, and 7.2 million tons worth $2.3 billion to Turkey,” he said.

Iran also exported 5.8 million tons of goods worth $2.2 billion to the UAE and 2.5 million tons worth $1 billion to Afghanistan over the reporting period, the director general noted.

According to him, Iran's foreign trade turnover for six months amounted to 79.1 million tons worth $45 billion. The value of Iran's foreign trade turnover increased by 47 percent, compared to the same period last Iranian year.
