Iran boosts aluminum ingots production

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Dec. 5

Iran's aluminum ingots production increased by 23 percent, during the first eight months of the current Iranian year (from March 21 through November 21, 2021), compared to the same period last Iranian year, Trend reports citing Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO).

According to the report, four Iranian aluminum companies produced 351,310 tons of aluminum ingots within 8 months. The figure stood at 286,449 tons in the same period last Iranian year.

"So, the Iranian Aluminum Company produced about 119,231 tons of aluminum ingots, South Aluminum Corporation (SALCO) – 108,830 tons, Al-Mahdi Aluminum Company – 98,321 tons, and Iran Alumina Company – 24,928 tons during 8 months," the report said.

In addition, the Iran Alumina Company produced 155,918 tons of alumina powder in eight months, which is a decrease of 2 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year. So, this figure amounted to 158,905 tons in the same period last Iranian year.

As well as the company produced 613,918 tons of bauxite during the mentioned period, which is an increase of 16 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year. So, the bauxite production was 529,111 tons over the same period last Iranian year.
