Iran has increased exports of three fruits - date, pomegranate and kiwi fruit, during the first 11 months of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2021 through February 19, 2022), Director-General of Agriculture Ministry’s Tropical and Subtropical Fruit Bureau Zahra Jalili Moqaddam said, Trend reports citing Iranian Ministry of Agriculture Jihad.

According to Jalili Moqaddam, the volume of Iran’s date exports for the reporting period amounted to 292,000 tons, which is an increase of 4.5 percent, compared to the same period last Iranian year.

The director general also added that over 11 months, Iran's pomegranate exports increased by 47 percent, compared to the same period last Iranian year. Thus, about 17,400 tons of pomegranates were exported in 11 months.

“Meanwhile, Iran exported 163,000 tons of kiwi fruit in 11 months, which is 37 percent more than in the same period last Iranian year,” she said.
