BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 12. The Central Bank of Iran (CBI) allocated $1 billion for the import of medicines, on April 12, 2022, the head of the public relations department of the Central Bank of Iran Mostafa Ghamari Vafa wrote on his Twitter page, Trend reports.
According to Ghamari Vafa, the CBI will continue to allocate funds for the import of medicinal drugs.
Reportedly, in total, Iran will allocate about $3 billion for the import of medicines and medical equipment in the current Iran Iranian year (March 21, 2022 through March 20, 2023).
Over the last Iranian year (March 21, 2021 through March 20, 2022), Iran imported a total of 22,200 tons of medicines, medical equipment and supplies worth $2.6 billion. This is an increase of 58 percent in value and 45 percent in volume compared to the preceding Iranian year (March 20, 2020 through March 20, 2021).
