BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 13. The amount of loans issued by Bank Keshavarzi Iran for the cultivation of wheat and barley in the country increased by 31 percent, over the last Iranian year (March 21, 2021 through March 20, 2022), compared to the preceding Iranian year (March 20, 2020 through March 20, 2021), Trend reports citing the bank’s website.
According to the report, in total, the Bank Keshavarzi Iran issued loans worth about 52.6 trillion rials (about $1.25 billion) for the cultivation of wheat and barley in the country.
Meanwhile, in the preceding Iranian year, the bank had issued loans worth 40.2 trillion rials (about $958 million) in this regard.
“Thus, the Bank Keshavarzi Iran issued 50.7 trillion rials (about $1.2 billion) worth of loans in connection with wheat cultivation in the country for the last Iranian year, which is an increase of 30 percent compared to the preceding Iranian year. So, the figure stood at about 39 trillion rials (about $928 million) in the preceding Iranian year,” stated in the report.
Also, the bank issued loans worth about 1.82 trillion rials (about $43.2 million) for barley cultivation in the country for the last Iranian year, which is an increase of 48 percent compared to the preceding Iranian year. Meanwhile, in the preceding Iranian year, this figure amounted to 1.22 trillion rials (about $29.6 million).
