Iran records surge in buy/sell operations at its Mercantile Exchange

BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 22. A total of 2.57 million tons of goods worth 207 trillion rials (about $4.93 billion) were sold at the Iran Mercantile Exchange (IME) in the last Iranian week (August 13 through August 18, 2022), Trend reports citing the IME’s official website.

This is an increase of 90.8 percent in value and 30.3 percent in volume, compared to the preceding Iranian week (August 6 through August 11, 2022).

So, 1.97 million tons of goods worth about 109 trillion rials (about $2.58 billion) were sold at the Iran Mercantile Exchange (IME) in the preceding week.

According to the report, about 1.98 million tons of goods worth about 137 trillion rials (about $3.25 billion) were sold in IME's industrial and mining products section last week.

The main products sold in this section include cement, iron ore, steel, sponge iron, zinc, aluminum, copper, molybdenum concentrate, precious metal concentrate, gold bars and etc.

In addition, 578,000 tons of various oil and petrochemical products worth about 69.7 trillion rials (about $1.66 billion) were sold in the oil and petrochemical products section of IME last Iranian week.

The main products sold in this section were polymer substances, vacuum bottom, lube cut, chemicals, sulfur, base oil, bitumen and etc.

Furthermore, 9,470 tons of various products worth 776 billion rials (about $18.5 million) were sold in the submarket section of the exchange.
