BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 18. Iran's raw steel production increased by 19 percent during the first six months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through September 22, 2022), compared to the same period last Iranian year, Trend reports via the report of the Iranian Steel Producers Association (ISPA).
Within 6 months, Iran produced a total of 15.4 million tons of raw steel.
Meanwhile, in the same period the last Iranian year, the country’s raw steel production amounted to 13 million tons.
At the same time, 10.3 million tons of steel products were produced in Iran over six months, which is an increase of 11 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year.
So, the figure stood at 9.28 million tons in the same period last Iranian year.
Furthermore, Iran produced about 17.7 million tons of sponge iron in 6 months.
This is an increase of 20 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year. Thus, sponge iron production in Iran amounted to nearly 14.8 million tons in the same period last Iranian year.
