Central Bank observes increase in value of Iran’s GDP

BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 21. The value of Iran's Gross Domestic Product (GDP), including crude oil, increased by 2.97 percent, during the first six months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through September 2022), compared to the same period last Iranian year, Trend reports via the statistics of Central Bank of Iran (CBI).

According to the statistics, the value of Iran’s GDP (including crude oil) amounted to 7.75 quadrillion rials (about $184 billion) in 6 months.

Meanwhile, in the same period last Iranian year, the figure stood at 7.52 quadrillion rials (about $179 billion).

In addition, the value of Iran's GDP (excluding crude oil) for 6 months increased by 2.66 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year.

“So, the value of Iran’s GDP (excluding crude oil) for six months amounted to 7.1 quadrillion rials (about $169 billion), while in the same period last Iranian year, this figure was 6.9 quadrillion rials (about $165 billion),” the statistics said.

Iran reached an increase of 6.6 percent in the value of GDP in the oil-gas sector, 2.6 percent in the services sector and 3.8 percent in the industrial and mining sector, while a decrease of 1.1 percent in the agriculture sector within 6 months.

Both the Central Bank of Iran and the Statistical Center of Iran provide statistics on GDP in the country, however, there is always a difference in the figures.
