BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 17. About 4.8 million tons of agricultural products from January through February 2023 were handled by Turkish ports in general, Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure told TurkicWorld, Trend reports.
During the specified period, around 237,091 tons of agricultural products were transported through the ports of Türkiye by ships under the flag of the country, while about 4.4 million tons were transshipped under the flags of other countries.
Moreover, transit cargo transportation through the above ports from January through March this year was not carried out.
At the same time, in the reporting period, the volume of cargo transshipment through the Turkish ports reached 91.5 million tons.
Meanwhile, the volume of cargo transported via ships under the flag of Türkiye, in the accounting period, amounted to 6.4 million tons.
In addition, the volume of cargo transshipped by the ports under the flags of other countries totaled 85 million tons. During this period, approximately 18 million tons of cargo passed through the ports of the country in transit.
