Value of non-oil exports from Iran’s Sistan & Baluchestan Province rises by over half

BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 1. Non-oil exports through the customs of Iran’s Sistan and Baluchestan Province (south-eastern Iran), increased by 50 percent in value and 20 percent in volume, during the first six months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through September 22, 2023), compared with the same time last year, Director for the Economic Affairs Department of the Sistan and Baluchestan Province Governor Office Mojtaba Shojaei said, Trend reports.

According to Shojahi, 2.2 million tons of non-oil products worth $912 million were exported via the province’s customs for 6 months.

The director added that the main exported goods through the province’s customs for the reporting period were cement, coal, gas, iron ore concentrate, ceramics, agricultural products, etc.

According to him, the mentioned goods were mainly exported to Pakistan, Afghanistan, India, Iraq, China, Azerbaijan and Russia.

There are 12 customs offices and border markets in Iran's Sistan and Baluchestan Province.

Overall, Iran exported 67.7 million tons of non-oil products worth over $24.1 billion in the first half of the current Iranian year (March 21 through August 22, 2023). This is an increase of 2.62 percent in value and a decrease of 29 percent in volume compared to the same period last year.
