SUMGAYIT, Azerbaijan, October 24. The packaging production enterprise of Universal Packaging Industry CJSC in Sumgayit Chemical Industrial Park will cover 30 percent of the needs of the domestic market, the Director of Universal Packing Industry, Fikret Valiyev told reporters, Trend reports.
"Today, Universal Packing Industry CJSC is the only enterprise in Azerbaijan that produces cardboard packaging made of five-layer cardboard. Our production facilities allow us to meet 30 percent of the needs of the domestic market. In addition, the company also produces files. The capacity of the file production equipment allows us to meet the needs of the local market by 100 percent," Valiyev said.
Sumgayit Chemical Industrial Park was established by the decree of the President of Azerbaijan dated December 21, 2011. This is the first industrial park created in Azerbaijan. It is the largest in the South Caucasus.
In addition, on the territory of the industrial park, which has an area of 583.5 hectares, there are enterprises for the production and processing of competitive products in the petrochemical and other priority industries. Moreover, 38 business entities with a total investment volume of about 5.8 billion manat ($3.4 billion) received resident status in the park. Residents have invested more than 5.4 billion manat ($3.2 billion) in the industrial park to date. In general, 20 registered residents are already functioning.
