BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 1. Iran Tractor Manufacturing Company (also known as ITMCO) has exported 1,500 tractors worth $22 million in the first half of the current Iranian year (March 21 through September 22, 2022), CEO of the company Mostafa Vahidzadeh said, Trend reports.
According to Vahidzadeh, the company's tractors were exported to 25 countries. He also said that 70-80 percent of the tractor markets of Iraq and Afghanistan are supplied by the company's tractors.
“In 6 months, the company's tractor production exceeded 20,000 units, and the production is estimated to reach 40,000 units by the end of the year (March 19, 2024). About 92 percent of the equipment and spare parts used in the production of Iran Tractor Manufacturing Company are domestically produced,” the director noted.
Vahidzadeh also mentioned that Iran Tractor Manufacturing Company has production plants in Venezuela and Tajikistan. The focus is on establishing production plants in 2 more countries - Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.
Iran Tractor Manufacturing Company was established in 1968 with its headquarters in East Azerbaijan Province. Over the past 50 years, by holding 12 subordinate companies and the capacity to produce more than 30,000 units of tractors per year, the company has become the largest and biggest agricultural machinery producer in the entire Middle East.
There are 8 branches of Iran Tractor Manufacturing Company operating in Iran’s East Azerbaijan Province, 2 branches outside the province, and 2 branches outside Iran.
