BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 31. The Association of Banks of Azerbaijan (ABA) and the Union of Judges of Azerbaijan will establish a platform for discussing financial and banking issues within the signed memorandum, ABA president Zakir Nuriyev told reporters following the signing ceremony today in Baku, Trend reports.

"A venue was needed to discuss emerging issues, and we decided to establish a discussion platform. Now banks will discuss any issues and make proposals not directly with organizations but through the association and the Union of Judges on a legal basis. We believe that it's more appropriate to discuss practical issues and make proposals on this platform.

This way, the independence of the courts will be ensured, and a platform will be created to discuss matters related to the financial sector, the banking sector, and judicial bodies. Today's memorandum will create a real platform for cooperation where we can interact effectively," he said.

According to Nuriyev, there are also plans to study international experience on this issue and to hold conferences and events.

To note, the ABA was founded by commercial banks in 1990. Its main purpose is to represent member organizations, support their needs in various business services, and coordinate their activities. The ABA now counts 23 financial institutions and six non-financial groups among its members.
