“The master plan of Sumgayit town must be reconsidered, as residential district has practically exhausted,” Abulfaz Babayev, the chairman of the Sumgayit Municipality, told Trend. According to Babayev, Sumgayit authorities gave instructions in this respect.
The new master plan will be developed taking into consideration the further perspective development. “We need for expansion of industry enterprises, but it is impossible to construct residential districts. We addressed to appropriate executive power bodies to allocate place in this regard,” Babayev stressed. According to Babayev, it is expedient to allocate plots for construction of private houses in the neighbor regions, as the density of population in Sumgayit is very high.
“We addressed to the executive powers of Absheron, Khyzy and Siyazan in this regard,” he added. Verbal understanding was achieved with Absheron Executive Power.
According to Babayev, first, many-storied buildings must be constructed in possible parts of the town due to the high density of population. Besides it is planned to pull down old Finnish houses [one-storey houses] and construct many-storey buildings. The master plan will include all these issues.
