Will Maybach follow Rolls-Royce with smaller car?

(autoinsidernews) - Following Rolls-Royce's announcement at the Paris Motor Show that it will produce a new sedan that is smaller and less expensive than its Phantom ultra-luxury sedan, Maybach has begun saying that it also may consider a smaller sedan, which may wear a Maybach nameplate or could be branded as a Mercedes, reports Trend.

When asked to comment on Rolls' plans for a downmarket vehicle if a $250,000 plus vehicle can be considered downmarket DaimlerChrysler CEO, Dieter Zetsche, said, Obviously there's some space between the price range of the current Maybach and the top Mercedes. We're looking at that and if there's a chance of filling it we have to decide if we want to. And also if it is with the Mercedes brand or the Maybach brand. However, we feel under no pressure to make that decision soon.
