(autoinsidernews) - Volkswagen today unveiled the highly-anticipated Passat R36 ahead of its world premiere at the Essen Motor Show in Germany. Even better news is that the high performance Passat will be available in both sedan and wagon versions. The Passat R36 will be powered by a 3.6L V6 developing 296-hp mated to a DSG transmission and 4Motion all-wheel drive.
The Passat R36 sedan will go from 0 to 62 mph in just 5.6 seconds, with 62 mph arriving in 5.8 seconds for the wagon. Both versions will reach an electronically limited top speed of 155 mph, reports Trend.
The Passat R36 will feature an R-specific bumper and front fascia, with large air intakes, and 18-inch alloy wheels. Out back, both cars with chrome-tipped dual exhausts, with the sedan gets a subtle trunk lid spoiler and the wagon sporting a roof edge spoiler.
