Azerbaijan, Baku / corr. Trend I.Khalilova / The issues of applying international standards in Azerbaijan, expansion of Azerbaijan's participation in the International Standardization Organization (ISO) were discussed at the meeting between the Minister of Economic Development of Azerbaijan, Heydar Babayev and ISO Head Alan Braider, the Ministry reports.
Babayev informed the guest on economical reforms implemented in Azerbaijan and positive results of last year. In addition, the country successfully continues the negotiations on entrance to the World Trade Organization (WTO). Mentioning benefit of Braider's visit to Azerbaijan, Babayev said Azerbaijan attaches a great importance to the co-operation with WTO.
In his turn, the guest expressed readiness to render each kind of assistance for Azerbaijan's active participation in the ISO. He highlighted the importance of expanding the trade, applying international standards in light of joining the WRO. In addition, he expressed interest in co-operating with Azerbaijan.
