Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend , corr. S. Aliyev/ Salim Muslimov, the Head of the State Fund for Population Social Protection, has said today that the Azerbaijani population have received AZN 74.8 mln. in the form of pensions, benefits, and social allowances to March 16. Thus, all the retirees had received their benefits prior to the National Holiday of "Novruz" ("Spring Coming Holiday").
Touching upon the issue on paying benefits to military pensioners, Mr. Muslimov said that the Fund had already received all the basic data on them
"Next month, they will get their benefits by means of plastic cards," said Mr. Muslimov.
Most part of the expenditures of the Fund (94 percent) in 2006 at a total volume of these expenditures at AZN 562 mln was sent to paying pensions, benefits, and social allowances to the population of the country. The share of payments of social insurance in financing these expenditures, increasing by 12.4 points as compared with 2005, has reached 80 percent. The expenditures on social allowances reached 97.5 percent out of the total payments paid to the population. Over the past year, the state employees received pensions, benefits, and social allowances to the sum of AZN 13 mln.
